How To Establish An
Attorney-Client Relationship
An attorney-client
relationship is established when an attorney agrees to consult with you,
agrees to provide advice to you, or agrees to represent you. Merely
sending a message (e-mail or "snailmail") to an attorney will
not create an attorney-client relationship.
An attorney-client
relationship must be established to obtain the protection of the
attorney-client privilege: a client's right to insist that the
communications between attorney and client remain confidential.
If you wish to establish
an attorney-client relationship with our firm you must first engage us.
How to do that is explained on the page describing engagement.
